Support the arts in the Arrowhead Region Become an ARAC Board Member
The Arrowhead Regional Arts Council (ARAC) is currently accepting applications from individuals wishing to serve on its Board.
Current openings for the upcoming term starting July 1, 2019:
a Student Liaison member,
a representative from Aitkin County,
an At-Large member, who can be from anywhere in our seven-county area.
The Arrowhead Regional Arts Council is looking for individuals with knowledge of the arts, artists, artists from communities of color, arts supporters/collectors, or individuals working in and with knowledge of the regional arts community. Council members must reside in one of the seven counties in the Arrowhead Region: Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, and St. Louis. Board terms are limited to two 3-year terms. Student Liaisons serve for a 1-year term.
Board members serve as volunteers but are paid a mileage reimbursement for attending meetings. Those from more than 25 miles away also receive a small per diem on meeting days.
Serving on the board gives an individual the opportunity to learn about arts activities in the region; increase their knowledge of grant writing and the review process; and to network with other artists and arts professionals.
ARAC members are chosen for their knowledge, expertise, and involvement in the arts. ARAC abides by all applicable laws relating to nondiscrimination and affirmative action. The Council does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, age, status as legal alien, or any other legally protected status.
Applications must be submitted through ARAC’s Grants Portal and will be open until filled. For more information and how to apply, please visit our Board Members page.
