ARAC’s Holiday Guide to Supporting the Arts

Small Business Saturday has gone by but we want to continue to encourage everyone to shop and support your local, gallery, gift shops, and arts organizations this Holiday season! Below you’ll find ideas on how to support local creatives this holiday season!

Support Tip #1
Follow, share, shop, and engage with local artists, makers, and small business owners through social media! Even a simple “like” can go a long way.

Support Tip #2
Attend holiday programs and community events! Schools, theaters, community centers, and pop-up marketplaces have all put so much effort into planning wonderful holiday-themed events! Bundle up and head out to a holiday play or do a little shopping at a makers market. Even if it’s something you don’t normally do, try it out, you might be surprised by how welcoming these spaces are. :)

Support Tip #3
If you’re buying gifts for the holidays, shop at local gift/gallery shops! These stores typically sell handmade items which means you’re being doubly supportive - go you!
