Free classes in porcupine quillwork, botanical drawing, writing and violin technique, as well as a Soul Collage session, will be offered free to the local community on Mallard Island in Rainy Lake. The instructors (Randy Sabien, Joe Savage, Patricia Francisco, Mark Granlund and Marian Moore) are highly successful artists and seasoned teachers. Participants will be invited to explore this unique and beautiful island, once the home of wilderness advocate Ernest Oberholtzer, now preserved and maintained by the Oberholtzer Foundation. Over-water transportation from Tilson Bay landing and back will be provided as well as most materials.Adults and teens are welcomed; space is limited.
