Indigenous Art Connections Series

The Lake Vermilion Cultural Center will be hosting 5 youth workshops this summer in the Indigenous Art Connections Series. The workshops are funded through a grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council. This project aligns with our ongoing goal of enriching the community through education and the arts by offering quality programming and opportunities to showcase the rich cultural heritage of our area 

Topics and program dates are listed. The sessions will be open to children and youth in third grade and older and will be limited to 10-15 participants per session. Registration is required, but there is no fee to attend. Online registration will be available soon on our website: vermlionculturalcenter.org.

Session topics include: 

August 7 9am-2pm Birch Bark Baskets (limit of 10) 

August 10 9am-12pm Gathering/Possibles Bag (limit of 10) 

August 18 9am-12pm Hand Drum Making (limit of 10) 

August 28 9am-12pm Cedar Knocking Stick (limit of 15) 

Date to be announced: Night Sky Singers, Ojibwe Drum Group: Ojibwe Music (limit of 15) 

Local artists and musicians will teach all sessions and will be held at the Lake Vermilion Cultural Center, 705 Main St, Tower, MN
