Travel Shrines: Creating portable remembrance altars

  • Spirit of the Lake Community Arts 5401 East Superior Street Duluth, MN, 55804 United States (map)

Since 2008, Duluth All Souls Night has brought our community together each fall to acknowledge loss and transform grief with creativity. Join us for an evening presentation with shrine creators from past festivals as they share how grief art can help us process loss and celebrate memory.

Artists will share stories, images, and examples of portable remembrance shrines. Attendees will leave with ideas for assembling their own remembrance shrine, and an open invitation to display it at the Duluth All Souls Night festival at Clyde Iron Works on Saturday, November 8, 2025, 5–8 PM. More festival details here: https://www.facebook.com/DuluthALLSoulsNight/

This pre-workshop is happening thanks to a grant from the Lloyd K Johnson Foundation.
